Social anxiety can involve some perfectionism, as appearing "imperfect" to others makes one anxious. That the author would whine about it reflects how out of whack expectations are in the overheated market. I was hoping for classier looks, things with braids, different parting techniques, etc.Maybe my expectations were too high, but if you use a word like "comprehensive," you set them high as an author. The book is poorly written and the supplemental information provided to instructors is embarrassingly inaccurate. The authors distinguish three types of perfectionism: Self-oriented, other-oriented (expecting perfection from others), and socially prescribed perfectionism.
